Prof. Stacey Scott, Director Dr. Scott is a Full Professor and Associate Director of Graduate Studies in the School of Computer Science at the University of Guelph and Adjunct Professor in the Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo. She was formerly a faculty member in the Department of Systems Design Engineering at Waterloo. She is also a founding Member of Waterloo's Games Institute. Her background is in human-computer interaction, computer-supported collaboration, and computer science. Her research focuses on interaction and user interface design, and user experience design of emerging technologies, especially collaborative and social technologies. Much of her early career was focused on the design of interactive large displays and multi-display systems that support collaboration in a wide variety of application domains, including tabletop gaming, military command and control, and emergency response. Since joining the University of Guelph in 2016, Dr. Scott's research interests have expanded to include the design of emerging technologies in farming contexts, especially livestock farming. Her work in this area intersects with the two emerging fields of precision livestock farming and animal-computer interaction, combining her experience in emerging technologies and user-centred design with her passion for animal health and welfare. |
