IGLOO Software, a leading provider of online community and social software solutions was identified by Gartner as new and evolving niche player in the emerging social software workplace market space.
The Gartner Report assessed social software applications focused solely on internal use amongst employees in an effort to improve productivity through knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration. To be included in this industry leading report, companies were evaluated on such parameters as depth of functionality (out of the box), customer use case scenarios (internal only) and market penetration.
Companies in the report were evaluated based on two primary criteria:
In 2009, IGLOO Software primarily focused on external facing communities (outside the company), but many organizations are using our community software internally as their corporate intranet, project/team spaces and for internal communications. Moving into 2010, IGLOO Software will be offering more features that address the specific needs of the workplace. Upcoming release will include:
"I am extremely pleased that IGLOO Software was recognized in this ground breaking report by Gartner, says Dan Latendre, CEO of IGLOO Software. "I think it is extremely important that new and emerging social software vendors like IGLOO Software are recognized by leading industry analysts for their ground breaking work in this new emerging market. Corporations need to know that there are alternative solutions available now for the enterprise which are cost effective, robust and leverage existing enterprise applications and infrastructures."
